prescriber service process

Passionate About Inspiring Others
To use our services, practitioners must register with Simply Prescribing by following the Registration link provided.
If the practitioner is ready to be connected with a prescriber, they should register to be connected with the Pharmacy the Prescribing Doctor uses by following the email instructions.
Once the pharmacy is connected the practitioner can then complete the Book Prescriber Consultation section. Please note that if the practitioner is not yet ready to go live with their insurance, they should not complete this section. However, practitioners can still register without starting a Book Prescriber Consultation.
When booking a Prescriber Consultation the practitioner can book to either have;
1.) Prescriber to come to their clinic and consult only if they have 5 or more clients
2.) Their client to attend at the Prescriber consultation clinic for any number of patients
When booking the latter, the practitioner should provide their name, the venue for the consultation clinic, the number of patients for consultation.
The final fee for this service is determined by the prescriber and practitioner, and payment for the service is usually made online.
During the consultation clinic, the prescriber will conduct a physical, face-to-face examination and medical consultation with the patient/s. If the patient is deemed medically suitable, the prescriber will prescribe the most appropriate patient-specific treatment.
After the consultation, the prescriber will forward the approved prescriptions to the Simply Prescribing platform. The practitioner can then place orders for the prescribed treatments through the connected online pharmacy as needed, in accordance with our terms and conditions.
The prescribed treatment will be dispatched to the practitioner by the pharmacy (either HealthXchange or Church Pharmacy) for administration to their patient.
If you require a prescriber, please click the provided link to register with Simply Prescribing.

Who is an aesthetics prescriber?According to the UK health regulations, qualified prescribers include doctors, dentists, and prescribing nurses or pharmacists. The prescriber would have to see your patients in person first and then prescribe the drug which you can then go ahead administer. You however don’t need a prescriber to inject dermal fillers.
-
Who needs a prescriber to administer prescription-only drug treatments? If you are not a prescriber, you will need to work in conjunction with qualified prescribers.
-
Why is a prescription needed for aesthetics anyway? An injectable anti-wrinkle medicine is prescription-only drug. It should only be prescribed after a careful and thorough assessment by a clinician who is qualified to treat a patient who develops any unexpected complications in an appropriate environment. If not administered correctly, it can lead to infections, drooping facial features, impaired vision and/or breathing difficulties.
-
Do I need any certificates or documents to get setup?Non-Prescribers will need to provide a certificate in anti-wrinkle injections training, evidence of indemnity insurance cover and a certificate for their profession as a Healthcare Professional.
-
What is the patient consultation process? All clients are required to have a physical face to face consultation with a prescriber before a prescription can be produced. Face time, video links like skype and general remote prescribing are no longer permitted by the NMC, GDC or GMC. During the consultation the prescriber undertakes an in-depth discussion regarding past medical history, including medications, risk benefits and alternatives of the proposed treatment. the patient is given time to ask any questions. the patient is informed of any relevant arrangements for monitoring and review.
-
Does the non-prescriber need to be present at the consultations? The non-prescriber need not be present for the consultation, although they may wish to be. Likewise, the prescriber does not need to be present whilst the non-prescriber administers the anti-wrinkle drug.
-
What happens after the consultation?Consultation complete, the non-prescriber orders the products on their online pharmacy account linked to Simply Prescribing. Simply Prescribing then adds its credentials which approves the order for delivery to the non-prescriber's address. It is quite normal for the pharmacy to verify that the prescriber is happy to prescribe for the non-prescriber when they first order. The billing address and delivery address entered are those of the non-prescriber who will pay for the products and have them delivered to them directly.
-
How often do pharmacies take to deliver the orders?Depending on what time of day you order and the opening hours of the pharmacy, you can often get a delivery the next working day.
-
Can I order products before the consultation?Unless you are a doctor or dentist allowed to hold stock, any other medical professional would need to order the products in, thus a delay between consultation and treatment. A non-prescriber must not hold stock, they must wait for the drug to be delivered in the name of the patient and treat on another day.
-
How often does my patient need to have a face-to-face consultation?A patient must have a face-to-face consultation prior to each prescription of the drug by the prescriber. Where the issuing of a repeat prescription is considered some conditions need to be met. A new face-to-face is required when: A new medicine is prescribed There is a change to a previously prescribed medication There is a change to the patient's medical history There is an adverse incident More than 6 months has passed since the last consultation
-
How is the prescriber paid?Simply Prescribing is normally paid directly by the non-prescriber, bank transfer is often the most convenient method. Costs are £35 per consultation.
-
